THE PODERM® METHOD: THE KEY STAGES OF TREATMENT

#1

Anamnesis & diagnosis

The first essential step of the PODERM® Method, the patient assessment makes it possible to precisely identify etiological and contributing factors (footwear, treatments, postural issues, hygiene, lifestyle habits, etc.).This thorough clinical analysis enables the establishment of an accurate differential diagnosis, the adaptation of the treatment strategy, and ensures personalized and effective therapeutic follow-up.

#2

Patient communication

Beforeany treatment, it is crucial to present the protocol to the patient and clearlyexplain each step: the painless removal of the affected area, the complementarytherapy and dosage, and the follow-up appointment. This time of discussion promotes informed consent and above all patient adherence, two key factors for the success of the treatment and long-term commitment to the protocol.

#3

THE TREATMENT

Objective: to reduce the visible fungal load, improve the appearance of the nail, and promote healthy, lasting regrowth. This step ideally prepares the nail for the application of the PODERM® Serum, ensuring optimal synergy within the treatment protocol. Thanksto the drill, the practitioner benefits from a precise, efficient, andcomfortable procedure that preserves nail structures through high-speedrotation. The result: a high-performing, gentle, and visually rewarding treatment for the patient.

#4

Step 1: Define the area

Thisinitial step distinguishes healthy zones from damaged or detached areas. It ensures a targeted and controlled procedure, avoiding any damage to the healthy nail plate. This preparatory work provides a faster, more precise, and more comfortable treatment for the patient while laying the foundation for an optimal result.

#5

Step 2: Thin down

Theprocedure is performed layer by layer to control depth and prevent injury tothe nail bed. This phase helps improve visibility of the affected area and facilitates its precise and safe removal. It also helps reduce mechanical pressure and patient discomfort, while restoring a more harmonious and functional appearance to the nail.

#6

Step 3: Clean and purify

This step consists of removing keratotic debris and damaged residues that may hinder healthy nail regrowth. It helps purify the treated area and promote the natural re-adhesion of the nail plate to the nail bed. The surface thus prepared becomes cleaner, smoother, and more receptive to the next stages of the PODERM® protocol.

#7

Finishing touch of the treatment

Atthe end of the session, apply the professional pipette to restore the lipidfilm after drill use, helping protect the nail plate. Repairs surface microcracks and maintains a protective barrier to preserve nail quality.Strengthens patient adherence to their follow-up protocol, ensuring a long-lasting and rewarding result.
